It seems like we’re not alone in feeling a little down about Abby Huntsman's departure from The View. On Monday, January 13, the 33-year-old made the announcement during the show that she would be leaving to help manage her dad, Jon Huntsman Jr.'s, gubernatorial campaign in Utah. As soon as the news broke, her co-hosts were quick to express just how much Abby will be missed.
Co-Hosts Bid Farewell to Abby Huntsman
Meghan McCain was one of the first to speak up, sharing heartfelt words for her friend. "You are such a bright light in everyone's life," Meghan said, her voice filled with genuine emotion. "You always see the good in everything. You've been a friend forever. I’m heartbroken you’re leaving, but I can understand better than anybody how important it is to go support your dad. They are special moments. The best of my life was with my dad doing the same thing. I totally get it."

Meghan continued, her voice brimming with pride, "I’m so proud of you and I’m so happy for you." Abby, moved by Meghan's words, responded with her own heartfelt sentiments. "Meghan, we’ve been friends forever. We will be friends — this show is what we do together, but we will be friends forever," she gushed, addressing her 35-year-old best friend. "I love all of you here."

Joy Behar chimed in, noting that Abby was one of the "nicest and easiest people I’ve ever worked with." Sunny Hostin added, "It’s been such a pleasure getting to know you. I really value your friendship." It was clear that Abby’s departure would leave a void in the hearts of her co-hosts and fans alike.

Abby Huntsman's Official Statement
In a statement shared with Closer Weekly, Abby revealed her reasons for leaving The View. "ABC has been my family for a long time and I am so thankful to have had a seat at the table on an iconic show like The View," she said. "After much deliberation over the holidays, I have decided to leave the show to dedicate myself full-time in support of my dad and his campaign for Governor of Utah."
